BOOK LAUNCH

Book Launch

With cuppa in hand, I welcomed every one
to my book launch. John Wallace-Jones
an author friend of mine also joined me
and the lovely gentleman in the blue top
in the background is my dad.

Book open and ready to sign while I listen
intently to one of my fans.
(It's so weird thinking I've got fans!!)

Busy, busy, busy!!

Due to my poor eye sight on the day, John had agreed to do my reading
and what an amazing job he did. People sat in the pews in front of us
and the whole church fell silent. There was approx 40 there listening.

Started the day with 50 books and took
home 7 which were placed on order.
All in all a fantastic day.

Book cover design!!

After a lot of thought, I have decided to commission Anna from Germany to design a new cover for The Book of Souls-Justice in order to make it have the best chance when it goes out into the big wide world. So those of you who bought the first 50 in print of the original copies; keep a hold of them!! Because one day they could be worth a fortune  and as soon as I have the finalised the new design, I will post it on here for all to see, then it will be the process of getting it available to you all on amazon, Waterstones and nook books.
For the new year I have also been invited into a local High School where I will be talking to the young people about writing their own book, the process and pitfalls of getting it out there into the big wide world. The school has also offered to sell some of my books for me. If this event goes down well, then I'll be offering it to some of the other high schools.

Tilly

Tilly keeps growing!!

Happy New Year!!

Book of Souls-Justice/chapter 2

From where we left off ....

Maya gaped at Leo in astonishment as he moved towards her with extraordinary and silent speed. Oh no, please don’t blush … but that’s exactly what here body did. Being a red-head with porcelain skin, it always betrayed her. There was something so delicious about him yet, she couldn't say what it was, except that it frightened her.

“Do you want to get out of here or are you planning on staying?” he chuckled.
Maya nodded and without looking to see if he was following, she headed for the door and stepped outside.
Although there were no signs left of the so called storm, the fog hung between them like blown flour. Maya closed her eyes, trying to steady the sudden and irrational feeling of fear that filled her. What if the monster’s hiding out there somewhere, waiting for me to be on my own? No way am I walking home alone. Suppressing a sigh, she re-opened her eyes and was greeted by Sam standing a few inches from her.
“Come on, I’ll walk you home,” he offered, as if sensing her anxiety.
“That won’t be necessary.” Leo stepped between them, his voice strangely neutral. “I’ll make sure Maya returns home safely.”
Sam balled his hands into fists, a suggestion of annoyance hovering in his eyes. “Are you kidding?”
Oh for crying-out-loud! Not again. Yet when Maya took a moment to think about it, it did seem an odd remark for someone she’d only just met to come out with and say, then that thought faded away as if it had never been there in the first place, and at that same instant and as if by magic, Maya knew she would be safe with Leo, except she couldn't explain why.
“I’m sorry, Sam. I’m sure I’ll be safe with, Leo,” she said, feeling slightly apprehensive to what she was about to do. “I will be okay, won’t I?” She looked back at Leo and waited for his reply.
Am I crazy! I hardly know this guy and I'm choosing him over Sam, yet it feels right.
Leo nodded, but said nothing.
“But, Maya, you've only just met the guy.”
“I promise I’ll look after her,” Leo spoke with patent honesty, making sure Sam understood his intentions towards Maya.
“Yeah ‘course you will …” Sam pointed at Leo, giving him a steely stare before turning back to her. “Are you sure you'll be okay?”
“Yeah, 'course,” she replied, with a slight nod, yet Sam’s reaction bothered her. This isn't like him, then again … it isn't like me either. What if Sam’s right though and he is a weirdo or … worse … he had something to do with that monster? She glanced across at Leo who broke into an open, friendly smile and she had to divert her gaze, suddenly embarrassed and feeling somewhat awkward. Oh boy, he’s doing it again, turning my insides into jelly. It was a stupid idea, of course he’s got nothing to do with that thing. I mean, look at him, he’s too yummy for that.
Sam leaned into Maya, his face close to hers and whispered, “I want you to know that I think you've made the wrong decision.” He bowed his head, his face carefully neutral and without further comment, he withdrew into the fog.
“Sam, wait.” But he didn't stop or reply, leaving Maya alone again with Leo.
